Dear Families
This week we are trialling releasing our regular scheduled fortnightly newsletter on a Monday not Wednesday. We seem to have bombarded families with lots of start of the year notices so we do apologise - storm and power failures don't help! This edition is quite long so please take the time to scan through to find the appropriate details for your family. We have a few busy weeks ahead so please mark down these dates into your calendars and phones.
Across the school year, we have many scheduled events that shape our school calendar. Many of these events can only occur with the support of parents and family volunteers, so I am reaching out to not only thank our regular helpers but also encourage others to not be shy in coming forward to help. We have a simple structure of events coming up, but really need more helpers to add to our plans. If you are able to contribute in any way, to help out with a particular initiative, to be on our organising committee, please let me know. We are currently looking for support to run our Easter Raffle as well as helpers for our school Athletics Day. I am also looking for some new faces for our School Advisory Board, so please reach out if you think this may be an area you could be interested in.
Child Safety and Well-being are a key consideration in all that we do. As part of our cyber-safety curriculum, we have again partnered with Inform & Empower to assist us by providing resources for our classes, our staff, and our parents. In the next week, we will be sending home another specific newsletter with tip sheets and resources for parents. I encourage all parents, regardless of their children's ages, to make deliberate decisions about becoming more 'informed' so that you feel more 'empowered'.
Looking forward to another great week at St.Vincent's.
Yours
Dave Cooper
As we journey through Lent we are called to think about others. Project Compassion, a social justice fundraiser of Caritas Australia, gives us the opportnity to reach out to support a variety projects across the country and globe.

Sacrament News from Mr.Greenslade
Thanks very much to those who came to the Parish Sacramental meeting on Wednesday at Sacred Heart Church. You (parents/carers) are fundamental in helping support your child’s faith journey and it was wonderful to see just how many of you were there.
Each year we offer the following Sacraments:
Year 3 – Reconciliation
Year 4 – First Eucharist (Holy Communion)
Year 6 – Confirmation
Please complete the enrolment (sent via email) if you wish to have your child participate in any of the Sacraments in 2024. Please ensure enrolments are handed in by Wednesday 28th of February so the school can order the appropriate resources to support the program. If you have any inquiries about the Sacraments please don’t hesitate to ask.
We will begin our 2024 Sacramental journey with First Holy Communion. Each Sacrament will begin with a parent and child workshop at the school. The first Eucharist workshop will be on Wednesday 28th of February and will be located in the Year 5/6 Hub. We look forward to seeing you there.
