Term 2 Ends 12.30pm |
Today our Student Leaders represented St.Vincent's at the 92nd Legacy School ANZAC Service. Thank you to Mr.Mahoney and Mrs.Stevenson for coordinating our school's participation where our school attended along with schools from across the state.
Well done to the students on the the way their conducted themselves as representatives of our school. A special shout out to Dear Delilah for putting together such a beautiful wreath for our students to lay at the Eternal Flame during the ceremony which included dignitaries such as the Governor and Premier.
Wellbeing Initiatives and Assembly
This term we are implementing additional Well-being resources and supports across the school. This will involve various new initiatives and to do so we needed to find some time across our busy week. We will be trialling reducing our assemblies from weekly to fortnightly to allow house teams, year levels and classrooms to have more time for direct social-emotional learning opportunities. We have also began using a whole school House Team system to recognise students displaying our positive behaviours - We would be interested to hear your feedback about any comments the children have made.
Next week there will be no assembly due to School Camp, and again in Week 3 due to the our school hosting the Gippsland Principal Meeting in the Gym.
This term we move into wearing Winter Uniform. We do acknowledge the inconsistency of the weather in the Latrobe Valley so we have no difficulty accepting that it is at times appropriate to wear a summer dress in April just as it was to wear a tunic last November!
A reminder that school hats are encouraged to worn in the period of Father's Day to Mother's Day as we still have days of significant UV levels.
We are very proud to partner with the Morwell RSL each year to support their various fundraisers. The ANZAC Day appeal funds go directly to supporting the work the RSL does as part of the Legacy program. Legacy supports veterans and families from well known, historical conflicts but just as importantly supports our current veterans and their families as they navigate the challenges that often arise with military service.
Across these last few weeks the senior students have been selling ANZAC badges and we thank everyone who has purchased a badge. We will continue to have badges and items available until Wednesday.
We encourage all our families to commemorate this important day by attending the Morwell RSL ceremonies alongside our student leaders.
This term we start our 2025 Enrolments. If you have a preschooler joining us or know of any new families wishing to join us please encourage them to reach to us. Our school website contains our Enrolment Forms and Policies, and will soon be updated to include our extensive Tranistion Program.
